Underfloor heating is changing the way we heat our homes. The installation of green technology need not be limited to renewable energy generation and processing – how this energy is used can also have a dramatic impact. High efficiency heating and cooling systems such as underfloor heating require significantly less energy to heat a space than traditional radiator systems. Through a combination of low energy input and intelligent distribution of heat, these can be both green and economical – especially when used with a renewable energy source.
Underfloor heating ensures warmth throughout the whole room adding a whole new meaning to heating and comfort. Underfloor heating can be installed under almost any floor type and can be used under almost all laminate and wooden floors and certain carpets floors.
High efficiency or condensing boilers use less gas to produce the same amount of heat as standard boilers. They do this by recovering and using heat that would otherwise be lost and wasted.
An extra large heat exchanger (or sometimes two heat exchangers) maximizes heat transfer from the burner as well as recovering useful heat that would normally be lost with the flue gasses
TWIN COIL CYLINDERS
For solar and heat pumps you will need a different cylinder to those traditionally used in the home as these need to become more of a heat store, therefore making them bigger in size.
The required size will depend on the hot water demand but they usually start from 550mm width by 1200mm height.
A twin coil cylinder is necessary for use with solar energy as one coil will be receiving the heat from the collector on the roof and the other coil is used to supply heat from the other main heat source when solar energy is insufficient.
